CANDHI is a Central American regional initiatiative that aims to reduce the ocurrence and impact of disasters by freely disseminating information about how to prevent and respond to disasters and emergencies, public health, sustainable development topics, and other areas of knowledge that can play a role in preventing and managing disasters and emergencies. Our network is a collaborative effort of information centers and libraries that collect, organize and disseminate information about disasters and health.
Among the resources available in our information network are:
- A network of Websites with local, regioal, and international information about disasters and health.
- Full-text digital documents about prevention, response, mitigation, and all aspects of disaster management.
- Bibliographical databases of disaster-related publications.
- A search engine that allows searching information in the whole CANDHI network.
- Software tools for information centers, that help them digitizing and sharing full-text documents.
- Training and technical support opportunities on the use of electronic information resources.
- A network of national and international contacts in the field of disasters management.
